The Labour Archives and The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas

In addition to the Finnish Literature Society and the Society of Swedish Literature in Finland, other archives and museums have LGBTIQ material documented in their collections.

The Finnish Labour Museum Werstas is responsible at national level for archiving LGBTIQ material. The Werstas collections contain a wide range of material on the theme, both in the form of artifacts and photographs. Werstas has collected LGBTIQ material since 2002 and the collection now includes more than 1200 artifacts and 400 photographs, as well as hundreds of ephemera, advertisements, flyers and other paper material. The museum gladly accepts new donations on the theme. Instructions and further information regarding donations can be found at the museum’s website.

The materials of Seta are deposited in the Labour Archives based in Helsinki. Material on the LGBTIQ theme has been collected in the archives since 2002. The member organizations can deposit material in the Labour Archives, where it is organized and available for researchers to use. The archives also gladly accept new donations on the LGBTIQ theme.
